National Night Out and Safety Palooza 2010
Congratulations Frisco for placing 17th nationwide! As you'll remember, we celebrated National Night Out on August 3rd in 2010, returning to the nationally recognized date as opposed to the alternate Texas date of October used in 2008 and 2009.
Once again this year, the citizens of Frisco came out in force to support National Night Out. Frisco police, fire, and elected officials made their rounds to more than 100 block parties, which illustrated the continued success of this great program.
The Frisco Police Department also hosted its first ever Safety Palooza on Saturday, July 31, as the official kickoff party for National Night Out.
Frisco police and fire personnel were on-hand to show off all of the public safety "tools of the trade," in addition to a CareFlite helicopter that was open for public display. The Frisco Police Department's Motors Unit performed skills demonstrations with their Harley Davidsons, impressing all who saw just how nimble the officers could be on their motorcycles.
In addition to all of the public service equipment and personnel during Safety Palooza, Frisco's own Snow Cone Lady was on-hand with plenty of her chilled treats to help keep things cool.
