Traffic Switch on Eldorado Parkway east of Preston Road Begins Friday, August 20

(August 17, 2010) As part of TxDOT’s Preston Road widening project, all traffic on Eldorado Parkway between Preston Road and Gladstone Court will be switched to the south side of Eldorado Parkway starting Friday, August 20.  East and westbound traffic will now share the southern half of the road while the northern half is reconstructed.  This will change the alignment of the through lanes of Eldorado Parkway as it crosses Preston Road. Motorists travelling in all directions at that intersection should pay attention to the new location of stop lines and to the changes in the operation of the traffic signal.

Eldorado traffic will transition from being on the south side of the road to being on both sides of the median at Gladstone Court.  In order to facilitate this transition, motorists will not be able to exit the Dominion at Panther Creek subdivision through Gladstone Court.  Eastbound motorists on Eldorado will also not be allowed to turn left onto Gladstone Court.  Only westbound Eldorado traffic will be able to turn onto Gladstone Court.

While this traffic transition is in place, some Dominion residents will need to use an alternate route.  Motorists will be able to access the Dominion at Panther Creek subdivision by using Turf Lane (off Eldorado Parkway), or Halifax Drive or Haversham Drive (both off Hillcrest Road).

Motorists are urged to use caution as people become accustomed to the new traffic patterns and traffic signal phasing at the intersection of Eldorado Parkway and Preston Road. The traffic pattern is expected to remain in this configuration for approximately six months.
