The Smart Controller Program enables homeowners to register their smart controllers with
the city. The registration program includes programming assistance, an irrigation check-up, and a smart controller home yard sign.
A smart irrigation controller is a sprinkler system clock that adjusts watering run times by
using weather data. Smart controllers can reduce outdoor water use by nearly 30 percent. Understand more about how smart controllers work.
Once you register your smart controller with Frisco, your system can irrigate with some flexibility to the city’s watering schedule.
Registered and properly functioning smart controllers may irrigate without watering day restrictions, but not more than once every seven days (unless Frisco's weather station recommends twice per week watering). Watering is not permitted between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. during Daylight Saving Time. Your controller can be set to operate around these settings. If you aren't certain how to check, ask your irrigation professional or we can help you at the time of registration during the programming assistance portion.
Customers with a registered smart controller are designated with a yard sign. To ensure water efficiency each year, an annual irrigation check-up is required of smart controller customers who wish to continue to use their designated yard sign.
