Elections 

The City Secretary serves as the Chief Election Official for the City of Frisco. City Elections shall be conducted in accordance with the Texas Election Code and held annually on the second Saturday in May.

The City of Frisco is a Home Rule municipal government and operates under a council-manager form of government.  The mayor and six council members are elected at-large.  The City of Frisco is located in both Collin and Denton Counties and contracts elections through the Collin County Elections Administrator.

                                             MAY 12, 2012 GENERAL CITY ELECTION
                                                      NOTICE OF CANDIDATE FILING DATES   

FILE FOR APPLICATION FOR PLACE ON FRISCO GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT

The City of Frisco will be holding a General Election on May 12, 2012 to elect Councilmembers for Place 1 and Place 3.  If you are interested in filing as a candidate for City Council, complete the online form.  You will receive a confirmation email with a link to download the candidate packet. 

If you are unable to access the information online, please contact the City Secretary's office for assistance at 972-292-5020 or citysec@friscotexas.gov.  Residents interested in filing for a place on the ballot are also asked to call 972-292-5020 ahead of turning in their applications to schedule a candidate orientation. The orientation will last approximately 15 minutes.____________________________________________________________________________________

Voter Registration

Voter registration applications are available in the City Secretary’s Office or through the Texas Secretary of State.

To be eligible to register in Texas, you must:

· be a U.S. citizen;
· be a resident of the county;
· be 18 years old (you may register at 17 years and 10 months);
· not a convicted felon (unless a person's sentence is completed, including any probation or parole)
· not declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law
